Challenge

A $11B global e-commerce marketplace was undertaking a large-scale SAP S/4HANA finance systems implementation that required leadership, coordination, and subject matter expertise across global teams, business functions and regions. With design, testing, go-live and post-implementation activities spanning multiple time zones, the client needed experienced consultants to lead workstreams, design new processes, manage change, perform testing and prepare users for go-live. The program included BlackLine Smart Close and SAP ‘s Analytics Cloud (SAC), adding complexity to an already significant technology transformation.​

Solution

SolomonEdwards provided hands-on workstream leadership, change management, training and finance systems implementation support throughout the transformation. Our team led the design, configuration, testing, and stakeholder communications. We ran workshops, office hours, train-the-trainer sessions and super-user communities to prepare the client for new processes and drive adoption. We supported unit, integration, and end user testing, along with cutover planning and stabilization. We led financial close automation design and testing with the integrated BlackLine Smart Close solution, and led the SAP reporting workstream for SAP S/4 Hana and SAP Analytics Cloud – including project leadership, business stakeholder management, and coordination between finance and technology teams. ​

Outcome

Our client went live on time and within budget across design, configuration, testing and post-implementation stabilization. Our leadership of the finance automation, reporting and analytics workstreams, combined with structured training and ongoing user support, moved global teams onto the new processes and connected finance and technology across regions and time zones. SolomonEdwards stayed on after go-live to support operational execution and establish a stronger foundation for adoption of the integrated finance systems.​
