Home / Accounting for Convertible Notes
A sustainable cement and concrete developer had issued convertible notes with attached warrants and other provisional “sweeteners” to induce investors to purchase them. Because these financial instruments were subject to complex accounting rules, we were brought in to help the company understand the accounting impact of the notes and obtain a fair-value calculation of their value.
We provided the depth of technical accounting expertise necessary to explain the accounting considerations in a technical memo with the required entries, reporting support and fair-value calculations.
Our interactions with the company’s auditors on their behalf and the technical memo we created streamlined the year-end audit process. We continue to work with the company as a trusted advisor in evaluating complex financial instruments and transactions.
As a leading provider of tax advisory support, Steele’s expertise complements our accounting & finance operations practice and extends our support to the office of the CFO. Learn more here.
