A leading $3B distributor and service provider sought our help to support the procurement team’s initiative to report, analyze and create visualizations of the client’s critical spend, post-pandemic. This entailed a complicated analysis that involved labor, assets and expenses. The management team knew some costs had increased but needed our data expertise to identify exactly where costs had occurred and their impact on profitability.
We coordinated with the client to gather requirements and data from 15 applications for the analysis and visualizations; we then performed detailed analysis and modeling to identify increased cost drivers and highlight opportunities for cost savings and enhanced efficiencies.
We created 50-plus visualizations to highlight critical spend activities, identify cost changes and show the impact of various policy changes over time. Our data analysis expertise allowed us to find opportunities to increase revenue by more than $2M within one spend category.
