Home / Recovering After a Ransomware Attack
Cyber criminals incapacitated the operating systems and workflow processes of an international paper goods manufacturer—demanding ransom payments to restore the company’s operations.
We provided a response team to rapidly restore critical workstreams and databases, which was complicated by the company’s multiple, disparate systems. We reconstructed data gaps, implemented an interim inventory control system, and reconciled accounts.
The company refused to pay a ransom. Within four days, we had restored the inventory management system; over a 10-day period, we restored additional operations in sales, shipments and logistics, customer claims and accounting systems. In the process, we reengineered workstreams for greater efficiency and cost savings—and reconciled over $1 million in shipped orders that were unpaid.
