SolomonEdwards Partners With Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to Help Develop the Next Generation of Business Leaders

Collaboration will provide students with real-world experience by connecting the Rensselaer Consulting Club with internal operational SolomonEdwards initiatives

PHILADELPHIA – [September 2, 2026] – SolomonEdwards, a national professional services firm, today announced a collaboration with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) designed to give students greater exposure to real-world business challenges and help prepare the next generation of professionals of an evolving workforce.

The collaboration will engage students through the Rensselaer Consulting Club (RCC), a student organization focused on providing practical consulting experience to its members. RCC members will have opportunities to apply their skills to select internal SolomonEdwards initiatives, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to how experienced professionals approach problems, collaborate across functions and turn their ideas into action.

“The skills that matter most in business are built by doing: judgment, collaboration, critical thinking, asking the right questions, and knowing how to move an idea forward,” said Liad Wagman, Dean of the Lally School of Management at RPI. “Building those skills, together with real industry connectedness, is what the Rensselaer Consulting Club offers RPI students, and this collaboration with SolomonEdwards gives them the ability to do that work alongside a firm that solves real problems for real clients.”

At the heart of this relationship also lies a personal connection for SolomonEdwards. Meredith Rousseau, Senior Vice President in the firm’s Banking & Financial Services practice, is an RPI graduate (’98) and serves on the Rensselaer Alumni Association Board of Trustees. Her continued involvement with RPI helped create the natural bridge between the Institute and SolomonEdwards.

“RPI played an important role in preparing me for my career, so creating new opportunities for students to connect what they’re learning with real business situations is especially meaningful to me,” said Rousseau. “Through this collaboration, students can gain perspective and practical experience that will help them become more confident problem-solvers and, ultimately, stronger business leaders.”

Being intentional about how emerging professionals develop is a priority for SolomonEdwards, especially as technology reshapes the modern workplace. With artificial intelligence and automation taking on more task-oriented responsibilities, hands-on experience is becoming even more critical to building the judgment, adaptability and problem-solving skills that technology alone cannot teach. Through internal initiatives with RPI, SolomonEdwards aims to provide students with opportunities to build that foundation and develop into the capable operators of tomorrow.

For SolomonEdwards, whose client work is led by experienced operators and subject matter experts, the program creates a distinct learning environment where students can develop their practical skills while contributing fresh perspectives to the firm’s own internal priorities.
